The Paton Mini-C is a compact 150A arc welder, perfect for field work and household conditions. The device's small size makes it very mobile. The PATON™ MINI welder has a work stabilisation system installed, allowing it to be powered by a generator. The 150A output allows the use of electrodes from 1.6mm to 4.0mm in diameter. The Mini-C benefits from a 40% duty cycle and a 3-year warranty.

All machines supplied by Rapid Welding are load tested, have a gas hose with 3.8" fittings supplied and a UK plug adaptor included.

  • Powerful Output in a Compact Package: Weld with confidence — the Mini-C delivers up to 150A of steady, reliable power for MMA (Stick) welding. For electrode diameters 1.6mm up to 4.0mm
  • Lightweight & Portable: Weighs just 3.3 kg – ideal for site work, garages, and hard-to-reach spots
  • Ukrainian Engineering: Built by Paton™ in Europe, one of Europe’s most trusted welding brands with over 60 years of innovation
  • Generator Ready: Possibility to work on long extension cables as well as with a generator
  • Hot-Start, Arc-Force and Anti-Force functions
  • 3 Year Warranty

Product Details

The PATON MINI inverter rectifier is designed for direct-current manual arc welding. The MINI series of welding machines is intended for that users who need a portable, fully functional welder with a rated current of up to 150A. Such current is sufficient for welding by using any welding electrodes from 1.6 mm through 4.0 mm in diameter, with a duty cycle up to 40 percent, allowing welding works to be performed in household conditions, for example at country sites, small workshops, and motor transport enterprises.

230v Arc Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using a 230 volt single phase arc welder.

Why choose a 230 volt arc welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A 230 volt single phase welder plugs into the ordinary mains supply found in most workshops, garages and homes, so there is no need for a three phase installation. Modern inverter designs draw modest current for the welding power they produce.

They suit repair work, fabrication, maintenance and light industrial use, and they are popular both with trade users and with serious hobbyists.

How much welding current can a 230 volt supply provide?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Single phase supplies limit how much current a welder can draw, so the top-end output of 230 volt machines is lower than three phase equipment. Within that limit, a good inverter can handle a wide range of electrode sizes, from fine work to fairly heavy repair welding.

For heavy plate, long continuous welding or large diameter electrodes, a three phase machine is the better fit. Check the maker's output and duty cycle figures at the current you actually plan to use.

How do I choose the right output current?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Think about the thickest metal and the largest electrode you expect to use regularly, then choose a machine that provides that current comfortably within its duty cycle, not at its limit.

A machine with some spare capacity runs cooler and lasts longer. As a rough guide, small portable units handle light fabrication and repairs, and larger single phase machines cope with thicker steel and bigger electrodes, but exact limits vary between models.

What is the difference between a transformer and an inverter welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Transformer welders use a heavy iron and copper transformer to reduce the voltage. They are robust and simple, but they are heavy and usually draw more current from the supply for the same output.

Inverter welders convert the supply electronically before reducing it, which makes them noticeably lighter and smaller, and usually gives a smoother, more controllable arc. Most current 230 volt welders are inverters. The exact weight and energy saving vary from machine to machine, so compare the weight and input current on the data plate and in the manual for the machines you are considering.
