The digital multifunctional welder inverter, PATON MultiPRO 270 15-4 400V, is intended for semi-automatic welding with the MIG/MAG method, manual arc welding with the MMA method, and arc welding with the TIG HF method in a shield of gases and protective mixtures with direct current. These machines operate from a 400V single-phase power supply and have an IP33 protection class.
An additional advantage is the CLEAN mode, which offers cleaning of stainless-steel parts and their weld seams from oxides and heat tint, as well as surface polishing to restore its aesthetic appearance and corrosion resistance properties. To operate in CLEAN mode, it is necessary to additionally purchase a special electrolytic liquid for the passivation of high-alloy steels and a PATON TIG brush. Without these accessories, cleaning and polishing of stainless steel using this function is not possible.

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using a three phase arc welder.
Yes, normally. These machines need a three phase supply of the right voltage and capacity. Many industrial units have it but most homes and small premises do not. Some machines can be connected to a suitable three phase generator, and some multi-voltage models accept a range of supplies. Always check the data plate and manual for the voltage range, current draw and fuse rating, and have connection to the supply made by a qualified electrician.
In the UK, three phase supplies are commonly described as either 400 or 415 volts, which is essentially the same nominal supply described in different ways. Welders are designed to tolerate the normal variation in supply voltage. What matters more is that the machine is designed for the supply voltage range you have. Check the data plate, and if the machine lists a range or multiple voltages, follow the maker's instructions for configuring it.
Generally yes. Higher usable current and a stronger duty cycle mean three phase machines cope better with thick plate, large electrodes and long welding runs without overheating. That said, a lot depends on the individual machine. Compare the output current and duty cycle at the settings you will use, rather than assuming any three phase machine will suit every heavy job.
Duty cycle is the portion of a ten minute period a welder can run at a given current. Heavy welding at high current for long periods is hard on any machine, and running past its duty cycle triggers the thermal cut-out.Choose a machine whose duty cycle at your normal working current comfortably covers the length of your welds. Machines with a higher rating at the current you use stay cooler and last longer.
