PATON PowerMIG-400-15-4-400V inverter digital semi-automatic welding machine is a professional device designed for semi-automatic welding (SA “MIG/MAG”), manual arc welding (MMA), argon arc welding (TIG), direct current, in the environment of shielding gases and mixtures. The machine uses a fully digital control system, which ensures its multifunctionality and a wide range of fine-tuning options for welding modes. The main feature of the PATON PowerMIG-400-15-4-400V is a 100% load duration (LD) at a rated current of 400 A, ensuring continuous operation without the risk of overheating. This makes it ideal for long and intensive work in production environments.

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using heavy-duty three-phase MIG welders with a separate wire feeder.
It is a MIG set made of two units: the power source and a separate wire feeder, joined by an interconnecting cable. The feeder can be moved to the work while the power source stays put. This layout suits fabrication where you need long reach, high output and frequent long welds. Check the data plate and manual for your own machine to see how the feeder, cable and torch connect.
It suits fabrication shops, heavy engineering, structural steelwork, plant repair and anyone welding thick material or welding for long periods. The higher output and duty cycle let you work with larger wire and run for longer without the machine overheating. If you mostly weld thin sheet or do occasional repairs, a smaller compact machine may be enough and easier to move.
At higher output levels a machine draws more current than a single-phase supply can sensibly provide, so some higher-output models are designed for three-phase. Check the data plate to see what yours needs.A three-phase connection needs a suitable supply, plug and protection. Have a qualified electrician confirm the supply and fit any plug or isolator, and do not modify the supply yourself.
Duty cycle is the share of a ten-minute period the machine can weld at a stated current before it needs to cool. A machine rated at a high duty cycle at a given current can weld for most of that period.Compare ratings at the current you actually use, not the maximum, and note that duty cycle falls as current rises and in hot conditions. Heavy continuous production needs a machine with a high rating at your working current.
