The Rogue ET is a powerful high-frequency start TIG machine. This easy-to-use welder is designed with a robust and durable housing that is IP23S rated. Weighing below 10 kg, this lightweight welder features an ergonomic handle, carrying strap and long extension cables for maximum portability.

Rogue ET offer exceptional arc characteristics, both in TIG and MMA modes. Want more control over your welder? Rogue ET provide several TIG parameters that can be easily adjusted include gas pre-flow, start current, ramp-up time, ramp-down time, finish current and post-flow. All of which can be programmed using 2- or 4-stroke mode for greater arc control. Additionally, Rogue ET offers a pulse feature with background current control and frequency adjustments up to 500 Hz for better heat input control. In Stick mode, Hot Start or Arc Force can be adjusted according to individual welding preferences or applications.

New Pulse MMA functionality enhances the performance and improves the heat input control, to minimise the distortion of thin gauge materials, facilitate out-of-position welding with no undercuts and reduce spatter, thus helping to avoid several welding defects effectively.

Break The Rules. Go Rogue.

Rogue breaks all the rules, giving entry-level welders premium accessories and everything you need to start welding, right out of the box. In fact, Rogue's power stacks up against machines priced twice as much. Rogue's new MMA Pulse functionality provides users with improved control, enhanced penetration, reduced spatter, and increased welding speed. Power Factor Control (PFC) technology enables a highly efficient, stable arc that is resistant to power fluctuations. Break away from convention with Rogue.

More Control with MMA Pulse

Rogue's Pulse feature provides welders with enhanced control over heat input and arc stability. The controlled pulsing action helps create a stable arc, preventing excessive spatter and minimising the risk of weld defects or the need for post-weld clean-up. Rogue's Pulse waveform facilitates better penetration and fusion in the welding process, which is crucial for creating strong, durable weld joints and ensuring the structural integrity of fabricated components. Pulse technology helps in minimising the heat-affected zone, reducing the likelihood of material distortion or unforeseen metallurgical changes.

A Portable Workhorse.

No matter what you are working on, Rogue’s compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry from job to job with sturdy handles and a shoulder strap. It comes with a large digital display that can be easily read from up to 25 metres away, and the optional remote control lets you adjust the current setting without returning to the machine. Thanks to stable arc performance and weather-resistant housing, you can use long extension cables to work in even the most remote locations, without compromising process stability or weld quality.

Pulse with Impact

Pulse MMA and TIG welding are versatile techniques suitable for a wide range of materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, as well as non-ferrous metal alloys. This versatility makes these welding methods suitable for diverse industries, from automotive manufacturing to aerospace, providing welders with flexibility. The benefits of using Rouge's new MMA Pulse functionality extend across applications, enabling easier gap bridging and improved penetration in root pass processes, resulting in stronger welds. This reduces undercut in vertical welding, provides better weld puddle control in overhead welding to better hold material in place, and reduces burn-through and material distortion in thin-gauge materials.

230v TIG Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using single phase TIG welders.

Why choose a single phase 230v TIG welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Single phase 230 volt is the supply found in homes, small workshops and many units, so a machine designed for it can be used almost anywhere without needing a three phase installation. Modern inverter designs draw relatively low current for the welding power they produce.

That makes these machines popular for fabrication, repair, motorsport, restoration, pipework and light industrial work, as well as for home use.

How much power can I get from a 230v supply?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

The supply limits the maximum welding current. A standard 13 amp socket gives less power than a dedicated higher-rated supply, so the output you can use continuously may be lower than the machine's maximum. Check the data plate for the input current at full output, and what protection it needs.

For higher currents or heavier duty, a dedicated circuit installed by a competent electrician may be needed. Do not assume a plug-in connection will suit full output.

Should I choose DC or AC/DC?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

DC machines weld steel, stainless steel, copper and other metals except aluminium. AC/DC machines add alternating current, which breaks up the oxide layer on aluminium and magnesium, so they are needed for those metals.

If you will weld aluminium at all, choose AC/DC. If you only weld steel, stainless and similar metals, DC is simpler and more economical. AC/DC machines normally also offer controls for balance and frequency, to fine-tune the arc.

What is a multi-voltage TIG welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A multi-voltage machine adapts to different supplies, for example running on both 110 and 230 volts, and sometimes wider ranges. This suits people who move between site and workshop or use different supplies.

The output you get depends on the supply connected, with less at lower voltages. Check the specification at each voltage, and make sure the plug, cable and protection match the supply you connect to.
