The Rogue ES is a robust and durable power source for the professional welder. The machine provides state-of-the-art welding performance and reliability through the use of the latest high-performance power electronics and Digital control; ensuring a precise consistent arc.

The Rogue ES provides a smooth DC (Direct Current) welding power which allows you to weld a variety of metals, such as alloyed and non-alloyed steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Featuring adjustable Arc Force and Hot Start settings for more control over your arc. Digital microprocessors offer more control over all arc parameters and provides best-in-class welding performance. The Rogue ES 181iP PRO can be used with electrodes up to 4.0 mm.

New Pulse MMA functionality enhances the performance and improves the heat input control, to minimise the distortion of thin gauge materials distortion, facilitate out-of-position welding with no undercuts and reduce spatter, thus helping to effectively avoid several welding defects.

Rogue ES can TIG weld mild-steel or stainless steel via "LIVE TIG“ functionality for even more versatility.

Product Details

Break The Rules. Go Rogue.

Rogue breaks all the rules, giving entry-level welders premium accessories and everything you need to start welding, right out of the box. In fact, Rogue's power stacks up against machines twice its price. Rogue's new MMA Pulse functionality provides users with improved control, enhanced penetration, reduced spatter, and increased welding speed. Power Factor Control (PFC) technology enables a highly efficient, steady arc that is resistant to power fluctuations. Break away from convention with Rogue.

More Control with MMA Pulse

Rogue's Pulse feature provides welders with enhanced control over heat input and arc stability. The controlled pulsing action helps create a stable arc, preventing excessive spatter and minimising the risk of weld defects or the need for post-weld clean-up. Rogue's Pulse waveform enhances penetration and fusion during welding, which is crucial for creating strong, durable weld joints and ensuring the structural integrity of fabricated components. Pulse technology helps in minimising the heat-affected zone, reducing the likelihood of material distortion or unforeseen metallurgical changes.

A Portable Workhorse.

No matter what you are working, Rogue’s compact and lightweight design makes it easy to carry from job to job with sturdy handles and a shoulder strap. It comes with a large digital display that can be easily read from up to 25 metres away, and the optional remote control lets you adjust current settings without going back to the machine. Thanks to stable arc performance and weather-resistant housing, you can use long extension cables to work in even the most remote locations, all without affecting process stability and weld quality.

Pulse with Impact

Pulse MMA and TIG welding are versatile techniques suitable for a wide range of materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, as well as non-ferrous metals' alloys. This versatility makes these welding methods suitable for diverse industries, from automotive manufacturing to aerospace, providing welders with flexibility. The benefits of using Rouge's new MMA Pulse functionality extend across applications, enabling easier gap bridging and improved penetration in root-pass processes, resulting in stronger welds. This reduces undercuts in vertical welding, provides better weld-puddle control in overhead welding to better keep material in place, and reduces burnthrough and material distortion with thin-gauge materials.

110v Arc Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using a 110 volt arc welder.

How much welding power can I get from a 110 volt supply?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A 110 volt supply limits the current the welder can draw, so the maximum welding output is lower than on a 230 volt supply. In practice this means 110 volt machines are suited to smaller electrodes and lighter to medium work rather than heavy, thick-section welding.

Many dual voltage machines give less output on 110 volts than they do on 230 volts. Check the maker's output figures at the voltage you will actually use, not just the headline rating.

What is a dual voltage welder and how does it work?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A dual voltage or multi-voltage welder detects or is set to accept either a 110 volt or a 230 volt supply, so one machine works on site and in the workshop. Many are inverters that adjust internally.

The welding current you can use is normally lower on the lower voltage, so read the data plate and manual for the output at each input. Always use the correct plug and supply for the voltage in use, and never try to fit a different plug that does not match the supply rating.

What size electrodes can I use on a 110 volt welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

This depends on the machine's output when run on 110 volts. Smaller electrodes need less current and suit these welders best, and thicker electrodes need more current than a 110 volt machine may be able to provide.

Check the maker's guidance for the electrode sizes the machine can run at its 110 volt output. If you try to use an electrode that needs more current than the machine can supply, the arc becomes weak, difficult to strike and prone to sticking.

Can I run a 110 volt welder from a site transformer or generator?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Often yes, but the transformer or generator must be big enough for the current the welder draws, with enough capacity left for other equipment connected at the same time. An undersized supply makes the arc unstable and can cause cut-outs.

For generators, check the output rating covers the welder's input requirement, and ask whether the generator suits inverter equipment. Follow the generator and welder manufacturers' guidance and any site rules.
