Package includes the ESAB Savage A50 LUX Air and the ESAB EPR-X1.1 PAPR system with 1m Hose.

The Savage A50 Air LUX helmet distinguishes itself through thoughtful features that makes a bold statement with ESAB-proven design. The integrated air vent can be easily adjusted to refine airflow through the front of the helmet. Furthermore, reliable PAPR system performance is achieved with TH3-level protection with EPR-X1.1 or EPR-X1 from ESAB.

The Savage A50 Air LUX helps ease part setup and aids visibility in low-light environments through its integrated 50-lumen LED work light. The work light is easy to power on using the externally mounted button, found next to ESAB’s characteristic grind button found on the left side of the shell.

A large, wide-range ADF with EN379 1/1/1/1 optics and ESAB’s OpTCS true colour technology tops off the premium performance of Savage A50 Air LUX.

ESAB Air Fed Helmets FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing a ready-to-weld helmet and powered respirator package.

What does a ready-to-weld helmet package include?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A ready-to-weld package normally combines an auto-darkening welding helmet with a powered air-purifying respirator, a breathing hose, filters and a battery with a charger. The idea is that you can start welding once it is assembled and charged.

Check the contents list for each package, since extras such as a belt, spare covers or a carry bag vary. Read the manual before first use.

What does the optical class of an auto-darkening filter mean?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Optical class describes how clear, even and distortion-free the view is through the filter, in the light and dark states. Better ratings give a sharper, more even view and less eye strain over long periods.

It is a worthwhile feature if you weld for many hours a day or do precision work. Check the rating in the specification.

How long does the battery take to charge and how long does it last?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

That depends on the battery size, the airflow setting, the filters fitted and how old the battery is. Heavier filters and higher airflow reduce run time, and cold weather reduces it too.

Check the manual for charge time and typical run time, and keep a spare battery if you work long shifts. Charge with the charger provided only.

What do the airflow indicators and alarms tell me?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

The blower usually monitors airflow and warns you with lights, a buzzer or vibration if the flow falls too low or the battery is near empty. The causes are generally a blocked filter, a kinked hose or a flat battery.

Treat any alarm as a prompt to leave the work area and fix the cause. Never ignore a warning, since it means you may not be getting the protection you expect.
