The ultimate welder protection

The Zephyr Flip-Air is designed to protect welders most effectively with efficiency and comfort. It features a flip-up helmet with a shade 4/5-13 wide view auto-darkening filter. Paired to a battery powered belt mounted airflow system, providing filtered air. The belt itself includes a cushion to ensure a high comfort level and includes a shoulder strap. The lithium-ion battery is designed to last 8 hours before recharging. A 14-hour heavy-duty battery is also available as an option.

This package includes a Flip Air Helmet with 9 - 13 Auto Darkening Lens, Zephyr Airflow system, protected hose system, shoulder strap, battery charger, airflow meter, one extra filter and rugged carry bag.

Air Unit Features

  • Airflow system: 2 flow rates (low 160 l/min and high 200 l/min)
  • This equipment includes an indication of the chosen flow, an indication of the battery charge, and two alarms in case of flow insufficiency: a tone and a vibration. This is important for the welder who is often in a noisy environment. A specific system sends the tone through the hose to bring the sound to the welder
  • The belt, as well as the shoulder strap, is made in flame-retardant material
  • 2 Filter system - Pre-filter for larger particles, Main particle filter, and optional carbon filter for filtering odours

Auto Darkening Filter Features

  • ADF with digital display, showing shade, settings
  • ADF infotrack system can display useful information such as current time, time on a job, temperature and alarm
  • Welding mode shade 9 - 13, Cutting mode, shade 5 - 9 and Shade 4 grind mode
  • Low battery indicator
  • 4 Optical sensors, X- Mode with magnetic sensors for outside use or low amp TIG welding
  • Adjustable shade and sensitivity
  • 2-Year Warranty

Lincoln Air Fed Helmets FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing an auto-darkening helmet with a powered air respirator system.

What does the shade range mean for my work?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Shade numbers show how dark the lens is. Low shades are for low-current work and grinding, while high shades are for high-current work. A range that goes from a low shade up to a high one covers many processes.

A wide range suits mixed work, such as TIG at low current and MIG or stick at high current. Use the shade guidance in the manual.

What do the sensitivity and delay controls do?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Sensitivity sets how readily the lens reacts to the arc light. Raise it for low-current work or when the arc is partly hidden, and lower it if bright ambient light or nearby welding sets the lens off.

Delay sets how long the lens stays dark after the arc stops, which protects your eyes from the glow of hot metal. Use a longer delay for high-current work.

How does the powered respirator keep the helmet comfortable?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

The blower sends a steady flow of filtered air into the helmet, which cools the face and carries fume away from the breathing zone. This also reduces lens fogging.

Set the airflow so it is comfortable and does not blow onto the eyes. Make sure the helmet fits well so the air flows out properly.

How long should the respirator battery last and how do I look after it?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Run time depends on the battery size and age, the airflow, the filters fitted and the temperature. Cold and old batteries run for less time.

Charge fully using the correct charger, store in a cool, dry place, and replace the battery when the run time is much shorter than it used to be.
