Another happy customer unboxing the new BesterMig 200-S
Exciting news Got myself another Welder! A second machine, and this is a perfect addition to the workshop because its capable of so many things! It's a @lincolnelectric BesterMig 200-S. A Multi Process machine that does Mig / MMA & Tig Lift. It Synergic too, which means it automatically adjusts the welding settings, to what your welding. Which I think is awesome ?? I've only ever mig welded, so I can't wait to learn more processes! Will be super handy for jobs on the farm too, Its not too heavy so i can carry it! Never have I ever carried my welder Oh and it's Red & Black, so it matches my Cebora which is a bonus for workshop aesthetics Excited learn how to use it all! There's much more to show so I'll share all about it as i go I've just used the gas Mig setting for now and it welded lovely first time. So far so good This lil machine has potential Is a reasonable price too, if you want to look more into it , i got this from the @rapid_welding Website

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing a MIG welder that runs from a normal single-phase supply.
An inverter converts the supply electronically, which generally makes the machine lighter and smaller, and often gives finer control of the arc. A conventional (transformer) machine uses a heavy transformer, so it is bulkier, but it is simple and robust. How much current each type draws for a given output varies between machines, so compare the input current and weight on the data plate and in the manual. For portability and a limited supply an inverter is often the better choice, while some people prefer a transformer design for rugged, simple workshop use.
It depends on the machine's output and the process. Smaller machines suit thin sheet and light fabrication, while larger single-phase units cope with thicker plate, especially with good joint preparation and multiple passes.Check the maker's stated capacity rather than relying only on the headline current, and remember that duty cycle limits how long you can weld at the top of the range.
A little extra capacity is often worthwhile, because a machine working well within its rating runs cooler, copes better with longer welds and gives room to grow. Very large machines use more power, are heavier and may need a stronger supply.Think about the thickest material you will weld and how continuously you will weld.
Duty cycle is the proportion of a ten-minute period a machine can weld at a given current before it must cool. Machines usually have a much higher duty cycle at lower current. If you weld for long periods at high current, choose a machine with a suitable rating. If the machine overheats, a thermal cut-out stops it until it cools.
