Extending the reach of standard Euro-connected MIG welding guns, the SuperSnake GTX guarantees reliable wire feeding up from the primary wire feeding unit. Lift it, drag it, pull it! This range is the ultimate synchronised sub-feeding system for those hard-to-reach welding sites that provides an alternative to the motorised push-pull welding guns with limited reach, or heavy wire feeders with extended cable sets.

The SuperSnake GTX is the latest distance wire-feeding champion that is compatible with the X5 FastMig range. SuperSnake GTX models feature 10/15/20/25 metre cable package options.

*Please note this SuperSnake GTX model is fitted with a standard FE 1.0-1.6mm liner and comes with a metal protection frame, digital metering, a safety isolation switch, and wire inch and gas test buttons as standard.*

    Features

Easy local control - The SuperSnake GTX user interface places parameter adjustment at the welder’s fingertips, including manual wire feed speed and voltage control or automatic power regulation and fine-tuning.

Powerful and durable wire feed mechanism - Compact, quick-release twin drive wire feed mechanism. Automatic wire loading ensures trouble-free filler wire loading up to 30 metres from the primary wire drive system.

Strong and compact metal protection cage - The standard metal protection cage increases robustness and neatly combines, secures, and supports the cable package, its connectors, and hoses. Easily opened for fast cable package management, the protection cage can also be used for suspending and hanging SuperSnake GTX above the work area.

Added safety value - Safety lock ON/OFF switch prevents welding with the primary welding system powered on. A valuable safety feature during rest breaks or moving welding locations.

    X5 FastMig FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using modular industrial MIG/MAG welders and their subfeeders.

What is a modular industrial MIG welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A modular industrial MIG welder is built from separate parts: a power source, a wire feeder, a torch, and optional items such as a cooling unit, trolley and subfeeder. You build the system to match your work and change it later as needs change.

It is aimed at fabrication shops, heavy engineering and production welding where reliability, output and flexibility matter.

What is the difference between manual, synergic and pulse versions?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

On a manual machine you set voltage and wire speed separately. A synergic machine sets them together from a single control once you pick the material, wire and gas. A pulse machine adds pulsed current for lower heat input and less spatter.

Manual suits experienced welders who like full control, synergic speeds up set-up and consistency, and pulse suits aluminium, stainless and quality-critical work.

What is a subfeeder and when do I need one?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A subfeeder is a separate wire feeder that sits close to the work, linked to the main machine by a cable. It lets you weld a long way from the power source, with a short, light torch lead.

It is useful on large structures, in shipyards, tanks and tall assemblies. Check that the subfeeder is compatible with your power source and whether you need an air-cooled or water-cooled version.

Why might an industrial machine need a three-phase supply?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Higher-output machines draw a lot of current, and a three-phase supply spreads that load across three lines so it is easier to support for long periods of heavy welding. Some machines can run on either supply, usually with a lower output on single phase.

Check the data plate and manual for your own machine to see its supply requirements. Have a qualified electrician confirm the supply, protection and cable size before you connect, and do not modify the supply yourself.
