Full freedom to unleash your welding potential

Maximum quality – on every weld, with every material. Thanks to targeted heat input and an improved ignition function, the Fronius iWave offers the welder maximum control of the arc and significantly reduces ignition delays. All the operating elements of the iWave series are designed for maximum control as well. The result is intuitive handling, allowing the operator to fully focus on the welding challenges.

    Product Details

    Targeted Heat Input

Maximum Control Over The Weld Pool

CycleTIG allows the operator to control the arc, in turn offering the user maximum control of overheating input. The short welding times make it easy to keep a safe handle on the weld pool. As a result, the user can easily weld even the thinnest of materials.

    Intuitive Operation

Dynamic Graphics-Based Menu Navigation - In Over 30 Languages

No additional documentation. No wild goose chases. Just follow your instincts. The intuitive menu navigation concept eliminates unnecessary detours during welding, allowing the operator to confidently make the required settings.

    Reproducible Ignition Processes

Ignition Delays were Reduced By Up To 71%

Ignition processes that are fast and – perhaps even more importantly – reproducible. Regardless of the material characteristics and without having to adjust any ignition parameters manually. That’s what you get when you opt for the RPI auto–intelligent ignition function.

    Industry 4.0 Ready

    Contactless Data Transfer And Authentication

Ready for Industry 4.0 and anything else that comes its way: from WLAN and Bluetooth right through to NFC, iWave supports all the major connection standards so that the operator can put it to the best possible use.

    110v TIG Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using TIG welders for 110 volt site supplies.

    Why would I choose a 110v TIG welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

On many UK building sites, shipyards and industrial locations, 110 volt supplies from a centre-tapped transformer or generator are the preferred or specified way to power portable equipment, because they reduce the risk of electric shock in damp or rough conditions. A TIG welder made to run on 110 volts lets you work to those site rules without extra equipment.

Many of these machines are portable inverters, light enough to carry. Some are multi-voltage machines that also run from 230 volts, which gives flexibility between site and workshop. Always check your site rules and the machine's data plate.

    How much can I weld on a 110v supply?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A 110 volt supply can supply less power than 230 volts for the same plug and fuse size, so the maximum welding current is lower than on the same machine at 230 volts. That still suits thin and medium material, pipework and many repair jobs.

Check the rated output at 110 volts on the data plate or specification, not the headline figure for 230 volts. Thicker material, or long runs at high current, may need a higher supply or a bigger machine.

    Can I run a 110v TIG welder from a generator?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Often yes, if the generator is large enough and produces a clean, stable output. Inverter welders can be sensitive to poor quality power, so check the generator's output rating, waveform and regulation against the welder's requirements.

A generator that is too small will cause cutting out or damage. The welder manufacturer's guidance on generator size and type is the best guide, and a 110 volt transformer or centre-tapped output is often used on site. If unsure, ask before connecting.

    Do I need a special extension cable?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Yes, use a cable properly rated for the current the welder draws, and keep it as short as practical. A thin or very long cable drops voltage, which reduces welding power and can make the machine cut out. Extension reels should be fully unwound, since coiled cable can overheat.

Use site-approved 110 volt cable and connectors in good condition. Check the manual for the recommended cable size, and have any doubtful equipment inspected before use.
