The ultimate in durability with a portable design.

The Renegade ET is a professional single-phase, high-frequency start TIG and MMA welding machine with the most resistant IP23 housing designed to be used in demanding environments. Equipped with a high-quality carry strap with multiple lift points, Renegade is ready to move with you when portability is required.

The Renegade ET have a built-in active PFC circuit that allows it to work perfectly even on a poor-quality power supply and on very long extension cables (up to 100m). Superior weld quality is a priority in this range, additionally supported by direct access to wide parameters selection on a simple and intuitive user interface, which makes the machine very easy to work with.

    Features

    • Highest durability housing with IP23 for indoor and outdoor use
    • TIG Pulse up to 999 Hz to increase control of heat input and weld pool
    • PFC for stable arc even with extra-long mains cable, up to 100m
    • Easy to read and quick to set panel, increasing the accuracy and reducing the downtime
    • Dual-current mode trigger functionality to switch between two output current levels, which control the heat input and size of the weld pool
    • Modular system with tool-less connection to the water cooler and trolley

    110v TIG Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using TIG welders for 110 volt site supplies.

    How much can I weld on a 110v supply?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A 110 volt supply can supply less power than 230 volts for the same plug and fuse size, so the maximum welding current is lower than on the same machine at 230 volts. That still suits thin and medium material, pipework and many repair jobs.

Check the rated output at 110 volts on the data plate or specification, not the headline figure for 230 volts. Thicker material, or long runs at high current, may need a higher supply or a bigger machine.

    Can I run a 110v TIG welder from a generator?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Often yes, if the generator is large enough and produces a clean, stable output. Inverter welders can be sensitive to poor quality power, so check the generator's output rating, waveform and regulation against the welder's requirements.

A generator that is too small will cause cutting out or damage. The welder manufacturer's guidance on generator size and type is the best guide, and a 110 volt transformer or centre-tapped output is often used on site. If unsure, ask before connecting.

Why is my machine cutting out or tripping?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

On a 110 volt supply, the current drawn is high, so supply and cable problems show up quickly. Common causes are an undersized or very long extension cable, an overloaded supply or transformer, a tripping breaker rated too low, or too many tools on the same circuit.

Use the shortest, heaviest extension lead that is suitable, make sure the supply can provide the needed current, and run the welder at a current the supply can sustain. If the machine has a thermal protection light, allow it to cool.

    Do I need a special extension cable?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Yes, use a cable properly rated for the current the welder draws, and keep it as short as practical. A thin or very long cable drops voltage, which reduces welding power and can make the machine cut out. Extension reels should be fully unwound, since coiled cable can overheat.

Use site-approved 110 volt cable and connectors in good condition. Check the manual for the recommended cable size, and have any doubtful equipment inspected before use.
