The ultimate in durability with a portable design.

The Renegade ET is a professional, single-phase, high-frequency start TIG and MMA welding machine. It is designed with industrial-grade IP23 housing, made to stand strong, even in the most demanding environments.

At the same time, it’s lightweight and transporting it is easy thanks to multiple lift points and a high-quality carry strap. Renegade is portable and ready to move with you. Renegade ET models also have a built-in, active PFC circuit. Even if you’re on a poor power network or using a long extension cable (up to 100m), you can count on Renegade to continue to perform.

Renegade is simple to use, as well. It offers direct access to parameter settings and an intuitive, bright interface to read them easily from a distance. You can choose between a classic LED user interface or an innovative colour screen for the advanced model.

Features

  • Highest durability housing with IP23 rating, ideal for indoor and outdoor use in demanding environments

110v TIG Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using TIG welders for 110 volt site supplies.

Why would I choose a 110v TIG welder?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

On many UK building sites, shipyards and industrial locations, 110 volt supplies from a centre-tapped transformer or generator are the preferred or specified way to power portable equipment, because they reduce the risk of electric shock in damp or rough conditions. A TIG welder made to run on 110 volts lets you work to those site rules without extra equipment.

Many of these machines are portable inverters, light enough to carry. Some are multi-voltage machines that also run from 230 volts, which gives flexibility between site and workshop. Always check your site rules and the machine's data plate.

What does a multi-voltage machine do?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

A multi-voltage machine senses the supply and adjusts to suit, so the same welder can run from 110 volts and 230 volts, and sometimes other ranges. This gives flexibility if you move between site and workshop.

Remember that the output you get depends on the supply it is connected to, and that the plug and fuse or breaker must match. Always check the manual for the maximum current at each voltage.

Can I run a 110v TIG welder from a generator?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Often yes, if the generator is large enough and produces a clean, stable output. Inverter welders can be sensitive to poor quality power, so check the generator's output rating, waveform and regulation against the welder's requirements.

A generator that is too small will cause cutting out or damage. The welder manufacturer's guidance on generator size and type is the best guide, and a 110 volt transformer or centre-tapped output is often used on site. If unsure, ask before connecting.

Do I need a special extension cable?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Yes, use a cable properly rated for the current the welder draws, and keep it as short as practical. A thin or very long cable drops voltage, which reduces welding power and can make the machine cut out. Extension reels should be fully unwound, since coiled cable can overheat.

Use site-approved 110 volt cable and connectors in good condition. Check the manual for the recommended cable size, and have any doubtful equipment inspected before use.
