    Go anywhere. Weld anything!

The new ESAB Rebel offers dual voltage 120/230v flexibility and some of the most innovative welding technology. A breakthrough design inspired by professional welders, the Rebel is a complete package to weld anything – mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel – and go anywhere.

Many machines claim they are multi-process but are little more than a MIG machine in disguise. Rebel is a proper multi-process welder, which means whether you are welding MIG, Flux-Cored, MMA - even those tricky 6010 cellulosic electrodes - or Lift TIG, Rebel will perform like it was born to run that process.

    Ready to Weld Package Includes
ESAB MXL 200 MIG torch with euro connector, electrode and return cable kits, 200mm spool OK Aristorod 12.50 0.8mm wire, 4.5m gas hose with quick connector, contact tips and drive rolls for 0.6 –1mm wire.

    Features

    • Exclusive sMIG ("smart MIG") feature continuously learns and adapts to the operator’s welding technique to provide a stable arc and superior, repeatable welds; increases productivity for the experienced welder, and reduces training time for novice welders
    • Innovative user interface with a large TFT display to provide a clear view of the weld parameters and settings from a distance. The display is loaded with exclusive features: on-demand availability of the user’s manual and listing of spare parts - all in multiple languages
    • Unique, five-handle roll cage industrial design and unibody steel construction in a lightweight, highly portable unit; three-year handle-to-handle warranty

    110v MIG Welders FAQs

Straight answers to the questions people ask most when choosing and using a MIG welder that runs on a 110v supply.

    Who is a 110v MIG welder for?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

These machines suit people who work where a reduced-voltage supply is required or preferred, such as some construction and site environments, where reduced-voltage tools are commonly used to lower the risk of electric shock. Check the rules that apply to your own site.

They are also useful for maintenance and repair work where a heavier supply is not to hand.

Because the supply limits the current, they are best for thinner material and lighter work rather than heavy fabrication.

What thickness of steel can a 110v machine weld?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

It depends on the machine, but a 110v supply limits the current you can draw, so these welders are best for thin to moderate material. Thicker steel needs more power, or several passes with good preparation and a joint design that helps.

Check the maker's stated capacity for the supply you will use, and do not expect the same performance as a machine running from a higher voltage.

    Can I run a 110v welder from a generator?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

It depends on both machines, so check the welder's manual and data plate for its input current or power rating, and the generator's manual for its continuous output and whether it has a suitable 110v outlet.

The generator needs enough continuous output for the welder's input demand with some margin, and some welders draw a surge when the arc strikes. Generator and welder makers may state which pairings suit, so follow their guidance. An undersized generator can cause tripping or an unstable arc, and may be damaged. If in doubt, ask a competent electrician.

What wire and gas can I use?icon-minus-redicon-plus-red

Most of these machines can use the usual solid steel wire with a shielding gas, or a flux-cored wire without gas for outdoor or windy conditions. Some can also weld stainless steel or aluminium with the right wire, gas and setup, but check the manual.

Use the wire size the machine is designed for, since the lower power suits finer wire more than heavy wire.
